Profiles The L Boutique’s jewellery

…Although usually a “nothing like the real thing” kind of girl, I too have been seduced by the faux-jewellery work of two ex-models, Lucia Silver and Angela Tassoni, which has real antique appeal. Silver, taking her cue from the Twenties and Thirties, has recently opened The L Boutique, reminiscent of a sumptuous Parisian atelier, in Chepstow Place. In her pieces, she uses crystal beads in amber, burnished copper and smoky topaz to make asymmetrical flower chokers that are redolent of the grand Edwardian era. She has bags of sparkling treasures she has collected from markets worldwide.

…And although delightfully opulent, Tassoni and Silver pieces are practical, too, because they look as appropriate with jeans as with Chanel. Thinking about it Coco Chanel would approve of that. “A woman’s décolletage,” she said, “shouldn’t be a strongroom.” What a relief.
